About the Opportunity

The Applications Manager leads efforts to enhance student success and administrative efficiency by managing and optimizing ERP systems. This role involves overseeing both technical and functional projects, coordinating on-site and remote teams, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and leadership.

Core Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management

Lead and manage administrative systems staff, assigning tasks, resolving issues, and ensuring quality standards. Coordinate matrixed teams across on-site and remote environments.

Project & Operational Oversight

Oversee daily operations and transformation initiatives, including SaaS migrations and workflow integrations. Manage projects using strong project management skills, ensuring timelines, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.

Client Engagement & Strategic Support

Serve as a proactive liaison with clients, fostering strong relationships and supporting modernization efforts. Collaborate with leadership to define goals, timelines, and resource needs for administrative computing projects.

System Optimization & Support

Provide technical and functional support for ERP and related systems. Lead change management, testing, documentation, and communication planning. Analyze and solve system issues, support programming needs, and ensure efficient system use.

Technology Evaluation & Maintenance

Evaluate third-party software/hardware for compatibility and usefulness. Manage data storage, archival operations, and maintenance contracts. Recommend improvements and assist in policy development.

Governance & Standards

Establish technical standards for long-term, cost-effective system management. Support governance processes and contribute to strategic planning.

Other Duties

Perform additional tasks as needed to support client relationships and organizational goals.

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

5 years of relevant experience or equivalent education. Strong functional and technical expertise in ERP systems. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proven project management capabilities (PM certification preferred). Experience in higher education IT leadership. Strong organizational and strategic thinking skills. Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills or Experience

Strategic planning experience. SQL (or other relevant technology) proficiency. Familiarity with SaaS and workflow solutions. Integration familiarity.
