Office Associate positions perform clerical work, providing support and assistance in the smooth operation of unit and/or program activities. These positions involve performing a variety of clerical tasks, such as providing customer service, managing documents, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the unit or program. These positions may have substantial interactions with the public. Perform related work as required.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Maintaining tracking logs/records for numerous reports required to accurately report data to the court systems, the WV State Legislature and members of the Department of Human Services Secretary's office. Answer phones, screen calls, take messages and direct customers to the social services staff that can assist them. Complete history searches in several software platforms to obtain case history for both internal and external customers. Create physical case files for clients. Sort, log and distribute mail, faxes and electronic correspondence to members of the Social Services staff. Access other software platforms used by the department to aid in verification of information that may not be obtainable through other sources. Applicants must possess or have access to reliable transportation. Applicants also must have strong communication skills, both oral and written. Overtime hours may be required. Successful completion of a background check is required for employment.
