About Our Client
Our client is an extremely reputable General Contractor (ranked in the Top ENR) with an international presence. They pride themselves in delivering complex mission critical, mixed-use, aviation, commercial, healthcare and K-12 projects worth $100M+. They are currently looking to grow their team in Baltimore by bringing on an experienced Senior-level Mechanical Estimator. This person will be given the opportunities and resources of an international firm, but experience a tight-knit family-oriented environment in their Baltimore office.
Job Description
The Senior Mechanical Estimator - Top ENR Firm - Baltimore, MD will be responsible for:
Leading the mechanical estimating process for large-scale commercial and institutional projects Preparing detailed cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other mechanical systems Reviewing project specifications, drawings, and contract documents to determine scope of work Performing quantity take-offs, material pricing, and labor analysis Developing subcontractor bid packages, soliciting pricing, and evaluating proposals Identifying value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives Collaborating with preconstruction, project management, and design teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of estimates Presenting and defending estimates to internal stakeholders and clients Maintaining current knowledge of market conditions, labor rates, and material costs Mentoring and providing guidance to junior estimators within the department MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
The Senior Mechanical Estimator - Top ENR Firm - Baltimore, MD will have:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent work experience) 7+ years of experience in mechanical estimating for commercial, healthcare, higher education, or mission-critical projects Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, WinEst, Sage, or similar) and on-screen takeoff tools Excellent understanding of construction documents, specifications, and industry standards Ability to analyze drawings and technical data to prepare accurate estimates Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates under tight deadlines Experience working for a top ranked general contractor or mechanical subcontractor preferred Proven leadership and mentoring abilities What's on Offer
