TMA VISTA Leader
Transform Mid-Atlantic is a non-profit membership association of colleges and universities in Maryland, DC, Delaware, and West Virginia. As the region's largest higher education consortium, we provide leadership to member institutions in strengthening a culture of civic engagement for students, faculty, and staff throughout our region. The Transform Mid-Atlantic AmeriCorps VISTA Leader will work directly with 30 TMA AmeriCorps VISTA members to promote the expansion of service and quality campus-community partnerships. This VISTA Leader will be on a team with 1 to 2 additional VISTA Leaders. The VISTA Leader's role includes two primary responsibilities: 1) supporting the 30 VISTAs and their host-campuses in program development and long-term sustainability, and 2) developing the capacity of TMA, which can include opportunities to assist with grant writing and program development. Day-to-Day service is varied and exciting, and includes site visits to each VISTA project during the year of service. Applicants must have previous experience with national service and have completed a full year with AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps VISTA, or Peace Corps. Member Duties :
The TMA AmeriCorps VISTA Leader position offers valuable leadership and capacity-building experience with a regional nonprofit that partners with colleges, universities, and local organizations on VISTA projects focused on poverty relief, healthy futures, economic empowerment, and support for veterans. The VISTA Leader supports 30 TMA VISTA members placed at higher education institutions across MD, DC, and DE by promoting service, strengthening campus-community partnerships, and serving as a key resource. Responsibilities include planning workshops, reviewing reports, facilitating communication, and providing guidance to members and supervisors. This role supports VISTA members and their projects-not direct service with students or community members.
