Job Summary The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting warehouse operations including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials. This role ensures accurate handling of inbound and outbound shipments, maintains inventory integrity, and assists with daily warehouse functions to support overall supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities
Receiving & Unloading Unload trucks and inspect all incoming shipments. Verify materials against shipping documentation and record receipts in the Materials Management system. Notify the Warehouse Supervisor of discrepancies or damaged goods. Identify short-dated materials (less than 30 days shelf life) and escalate as needed. Storage & Inventory
Place materials in designated storage areas (racks, flow racks, pallets, etc.). Rotate stock by receipt/expiration date to ensure proper usage. Assist with cycle counts and full physical inventories. Support record storage and retrieval processes. Picking, Packing & Shipping
Accurately pick, pack, and label orders for delivery. Build boxes, use packing materials (air pillows, tape guns), and prepare pallets. Process and document outbound shipments. Assist with pre-packing from bulk packaging when required. Load trucks and confirm orders before dispatch. General Duties
Operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, walkie stackers) safely. Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas. Support coworkers with daily tasks and projects. Recommend process improvements to Warehouse Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned. Competencies

Proficient in basic computer systems and data entry. Experience using pallet jacks, forklifts, hand carts, tape guns, and related equipment. Certification for powered industrial equipment (forklift, walkie stacker) is a plus. Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. At least 1 year of warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience preferred. Working Conditions
Temperature-controlled warehouse environment. Regular standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 30 lbs. Safety shoes required (lace-up, steel toe optional, slip-resistant preferred).
