Head Custodian - Spring City Elementary School
Position Summary - The position of the Head Custodian position is to provide students and employees with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work, learn, play, and develop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Able to train other employees on cleaning protocols and procedures as documented in the Custodial Manual. Must schedule, coordinate, and plan activities and duties for the custodial team. Schedule, plan, coordination with other departments, and purchase supplies for summer cleaning of assigned school building.Prepare the school building for the school day for safe use. Complete building checks to assure the required cleaning has occurred and there are no safety concerns. Report safety or maintenance issues to the appropriate staff. Clean any areas of the school building or property as necessary. Set up school areas for day time activities, school events, or rentals. Must be able to respond to emergency situations in a timely fashion and appropriately. Must contact supervisor in emergency situations and follow the emergency response chart. Must be able to perform minor maintenance duties and utilize basic hand tools. Must attend all mandatory meetings (e.g. safety, training and communications). Oversee the lunch room and cleanliness of the cafeteria during the lunch periods. Receives packages and delivers them to appropriate personnel. Pulls and delivers teacher supply requests in a timely manner. Keep all storage, custodial office, and mechanical rooms clean and organized. Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures. Must be able to report to work in inclement weather which includes flooding and snow. Must be able to perform snow removal responsibilities which includes -shoveling, snow blowing, and salting (lift bag of salt) when assigned. Able to drive an automobile, van, or light truck. Report cleaning inspection deficiencies to supervisor. Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools relevant to the Head Custodian position. Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of staff, students, community members, and property. Performs any other job-related duties, projects, and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Operations or their designee.

$23.50/hour + $2.75/hour head custodian stipend
