Maintenance Technician, Level 2 - First Shift

First-Shift Maintenance Technician, Level 2
with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and equipment maintenance and repair.
Person(s) must be able to work independently and manage their time effectively. Technician will perform a variety of simple to semi-advanced to advanced tasks in the maintenance of a feed mill, offices, poultry houses, processing equipment, vehicles, and general grounds keeping. Technician will need to travel between farms and have a full depth knowledge of all equipment. This position is a fully hands on position with minimal office work, mostly in regards to updating PM program or departmental meetings. Occasional leadership and training of others will be required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Technician duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Troubleshoot maintenance issues involving electrical, mechanical, structural, plumbing, and equipment controls. Troubleshoot, replace, and repair electrical issues - working in control panels, motors, electrical systems (3 Phase, PLC, computers, electronic boards). Maintain, repair, and improve complex equipment for grading eggs, controlling poultry houses, and producing feed. Utilize and maximize CMMS system, while improving equipment effectiveness and uptime. Manage parts inventories and relationships with vendors and contractors. Perform preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications. Perform routine plumbing repairs (i.e. fix water leaks, change water filters). Work closely with OEM/Vendor to improve operation of equipment. Maintain company fleet of vehicles, trailers, and mobile equipment. Support installations and improvement projects for other advanced production/farming equipment. Regularly inspect buildings and equipment. Perform building maintenance-caulk windows and doors, repair the interior and exterior of buildings (i.e. fix broken windows, patch holes, repair and replace door closures, doorknobs, locks), painting interior and exterior surfaces. This position requires continuous work near cold, hot, loud, and humid environments. The position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling. The position will require flexible schedule to maintain equipment operations and 24/7 live animal operations. Normal schedule will be 1st shift, Tuesday to Saturday. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skilled and experienced in plumbing, electrical, mechanical carpentry and welding. Knowledge and skill in the use of machinery and a variety of hand and power tools pertinent to job duties. Knowledge of trades related to building maintenance and repair. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Perform Preventative Maintenance Work and documenting in a CMMS. Perform troubleshooting, breakdown analysis, and root cause analysis. Work with and direct activities of outside contractors. Skill in reading and following schematics, blueprints, manuals, and assembly instructions. Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards. Work independently under limited supervision (self-management). Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Basic computer and tablet skills for simple write-ups required for audits or reports. Experience and familiarity with HVAC systems, electrical motors; capable to run electrical wire and conduits. Good working knowledge of conveyor systems, packaging machinery, pumps, gear reduction boxes, dicers, and other processing & farm machinery. Ability to work in close quarters with animals in a mindful way that does not cause stress or harm to the animals or self. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Job requires the ability to work in all weather conditions. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (minimum of 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of a typical workday.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School diploma or GED Maintenance certification or equivalent experience 3+ years' experience as a maintenance mechanic/technician or a strong mechanical aptitude. 2+ years working on manufacturing or food equipment 2+ year working on electrical systems, control panels, PLC, and electric control systems Ability to furnish and use hand tools normally expected of Electrician/Mechanical technicians. Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Control (PLC), mechanical, electrical, lubrication, fabrication, pneumatic and hydraulics. Ability to obtain working understanding of a CMMS system. Document work completed, assign time and parts to proper WO. Experience with vehicle and heavy equipment repair. Basic computer navigation or HMI, CMMS, access procedure folder on network, and E-mail proficiency. Common tools and powered hand tools. Ohio Driver's License Preferred:
Leadership and supervisory experience. Experience working in food, poultry, or agriculture industry. Knowledge of basic concepts, practices, and procedures in food manufacturing. Feed Mill repair experience. HVAC operations, troubleshooting, and repair. Welding & Fabrication. OVERTIME
