Special Requirements DHS ICE clearance preferred US Citizenship required to obtain a Public Trust clearance Must be able to travel to the DC office 4 times per week Bachelor’s Degree + 3-5 years of experience The Gist We are seeking a highly skilled, self-motivated Financial Data Analyst with advanced Excel expertise to support a senior government leader. This role involves working independently, providing accurate financial analysis, reporting, and insights to inform executive decision-making. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities with minimal oversight. What Your Day Might Include Serve as the primary financial data analyst for a high-level government executive. Collect, organize, and analyze complex financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Develop, maintain, and automate advanced Excel models, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making. Prepare briefing materials, financial summaries, and data visualizations for senior leadership. Translate large datasets into clear, actionable insights and recommendations. Monitor budget performance, cost drivers, and forecast variances; provide updates and ad-hoc reports. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all financial reports. Identify process improvements and implement streamlined financial tracking methods. Coordinate with stakeholders across departments to gather data and ensure consistent reporting. Manage priorities and deliverables independently in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred). 3–5+ years of experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or related fields. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA/Macros preferred). Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar is a plus. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Strong communication skills to convey complex data clearly to senior leaders. Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
