Qualifications:
1-3 years of management experience to include staff supervision and development Strong sales and service background Excellent verbal and written skills Ability to adapt easily to change and effectively handle multiple tasks Lending experience; Registration with NMLS required as required by S.A.F.E. Act Two-year business-related degree preferred Assistant Branch Managers are responsible for ensuring quality service to members consistent with the Credit Union's mission and values, driving sales in a service environment, promoting accountability, fostering a team environment, managing and coaching branch staff, ensuring branch compliance with policies and procedures, and maintaining the overall upkeep and good condition of the building and grounds.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch. Train employees to maximize opportunities to assist the members and to sell credit union products. Communicate duties and responsibilities to employees; coach employees; define performance standards and evaluate results; make recommendations regarding personnel decisions and empower and motivate staff. Assist branch manager with staff meetings. Monitor branch activity, including transaction volume, teller errors, loan volume, cash management, and new accounts. Work towards branch goals. Ensures that all staff is trained in all phases of their positions. Completes orientation of new employees in overall branch procedures and policies. Conduct loan interviews. Process, approve and/or close loans. Assist with member services and teller transactions on an as-needed basis filling in for peak coverage or shortages. Balance branch ATM, cash dispense machines and cash recycling machines if applicable. Oversees all aspects of member problem resolution. Ensures staff is able to quickly research and solve problems to members' satisfaction. Adequately schedule staff in a timely manner to ensure efficient branch operations. Assist branch manager with security at all levels to include open/close of facility, vault and safe deposit if applicable. Ensure that all staff receives on-going training on security procedures. Understand, evaluate, and apply operational policies and procedures for the branch. Work with branch manager and compliance to ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and other regulatory agencies.
