Milano restaurant in Latham is a Northern Italian restaurant seeking an experienced server to join our team. Milano Restaurant has been in operation since 1991. We are a small family business with a loyal following. We have a passion for delivering high quality food and service to the Capital Region and are seeking someone who has those qualities and loves to take care of people.
Job Summary: A Food Runner is responsible for delivering food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables quickly, efficiently, and with a high level of professionalism. They play a critical role in ensuring guest satisfaction by supporting servers and maintaining the flow of service. Key Responsibilities: Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the appropriate table promptly and accurately. Ensure presentation of food is correct and meets quality standards. Answer basic customer questions about the food (e.g., ingredients, allergens). Communicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service. Remove used dishes and utensils from tables between courses and after meals. Assist with setting and resetting tables. Help maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining area. Respond to guest requests and relay them to the appropriate team members. Perform opening and closing duties as assigned. Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior restaurant or hospitality experience is a plus, but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent physical condition (must be able to stand and walk for long periods, lift trays, etc.). Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Work Environment:
Fast-paced restaurant or hotel dining area. Frequent movement between kitchen and dining room. May be exposed to heat, cold, and other elements when carrying food.
