Power BI Developer

Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Central)
Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Power BI Developer
to design and develop robust data visualization solutions and deliver actionable insights. This role involves building complex dimensional data models, creating compelling dashboards, and implementing advanced reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making across the agency. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to engineer enterprise-wide data solutions and ensure accuracy, scalability, and usability of reports and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain complex
Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models . Develop and implement
data visualization solutions
to communicate insights effectively. Create, test, and deploy
Power BI scripts (Python, M, DAX)
for advanced analytics and calculations. Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights. Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment with business requirements. Lead and mentor other team members on best practices in Power BI and data analytics. Ensure data governance, accuracy, and quality across reports and models. Work in a
hybrid environment
with occasional on-site meetings in Austin, TX.

8+ Required Mastery in
data analytics , creating complex reports 4+ Required Hands-on experience with
Power BI
(dashboards & interactive visual reports) 4+ Required Strong expertise in
DAX, Power Query (M), and Python scripts
for deep analysis 1+ Required Experience working with
Texas state agencies
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of prior experience in
data-related tasks
(ETL, reporting, data modeling). Experience with
Source Control tools
(Git/Bitbucket). Exposure to
SAS datasets (.sas7bdat) . Familiarity with
Jira
for task/issue management. Experience with other
BI tools
(SAP, Tableau, etc.).
