Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Furnace Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at a leading global aerospace supplier. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of industrial furnaces, combustion systems, and electrical components used in aerospace manufacturing processes. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal performance, efficiency, and safety of our furnace operations. Key Responsibilities Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of industrial furnaces used in aerospace manufacturing, including heat treatment furnaces, vacuum furnaces, and induction furnaces. Troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues related to furnace operations, combustion systems, and electrical components. Conduct preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Install, repair, and calibrate furnace control systems, including temperature controllers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and human-machine interfaces (HMIs). Maintain and repair gas delivery systems, including pipelines, valves, and regulators. Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on furnace-related equipment, including motors, transformers, and control panels. Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to furnace operations and maintenance. Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance furnace efficiency, reliability, and safety. Train and mentor junior technicians on furnace maintenance best practices and safety procedures. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in furnace technology and maintenance techniques. Qualifications Required: Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial furnace maintenance, preferably in the aerospace industry. Extensive knowledge of combustion systems, including natural gas and propane burners. Strong understanding of electrical systems, including three-phase power, motor controls, and PLC programming. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals. Experience with preventive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices related to furnace operations. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various positions (standing, kneeling, crouching) for extended periods.
