Job Purpose:
Concrete Finisher assist with concrete pours and finishing tasks ensuring quality work.
The Concrete Finisher will also perform patchwork as needed, utilizing hand tools such as bull floats, rounded and squared edgers, and hand mixers. Duties may include cutting expansion joints with a power saw, aligning forms to desired depth and pitch, directing the casting of concrete, preparing and cleaning surface areas, and completing moldings using a variety of hand-held and power tools.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Prepare work sites by setting up forms and reinforcement. Mix, pour, and spread concrete for various applications. Smooth and finish concrete surfaces using appropriate tools. Ensure proper curing and maintenance of concrete structures. Cleans and inspects surfaces for pouring issues. Pours, smooths, and levels concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed (includes handheld tools and power tool versions). Safely operates power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted. Molds and constructs expansion joints using joiners and edging tools. Polishes surface using a power surfacing machine. Maintains and provides basic hand tools necessary for the work. Performs related duties including, but not limited to, light demolition or grading, as assigned. Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures. Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Minimum 2 years' work experience as a concrete laborer or mason Knowledge of concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing techniques. Ability to use concrete tools and equipment safely. Physical stamina to handle labor-intensive tasks. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Knowledge of hand-held and power tools including power vibrators, polishers, cutting saws, and edging tools. Understands and follows verbal and written instructions. Carpentry skills preferred. Basic blueprint comprehension preferred. Benefits:
