Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
Red Hat Engineer
to support, maintain, and optimize
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
environments. The ideal candidate will have expertise in
system administration, automation, security hardening, and troubleshooting
within enterprise-level infrastructure. This role involves working on
server deployments, system upgrades, performance tuning, and automation
while ensuring compliance with industry best practices and security standards.Key Responsibilities: Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Administration: Install, configure, and manage
RHEL servers
across multiple environments. Perform
system upgrades, patching, and security hardening . Troubleshoot
OS-related issues
and optimize system performance.
Automation & Configuration Management: Develop and maintain
Ansible playbooks
for automated deployments and configuration management. Utilize
Puppet, Chef, or Terraform
to manage infrastructure as code (IaC). Implement
bash or Python scripting
to automate routine tasks.
Security & Compliance: Implement
STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide)
and other security hardening measures. Ensure compliance with
NIST, CIS benchmarks, and other regulatory frameworks . Work with
SELinux, firewalld, and system auditing tools
for security enforcement.
Storage & Networking: Configure and manage
LVM, RAID, and network storage solutions (NFS, iSCSI, SAN, NAS) . Troubleshoot
networking issues, firewalls, and load balancing
in Linux environments.
Cloud & Virtualization Support: Work with
VMware, KVM, or OpenStack
for virtualization. Deploy and manage
Red Hat solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) .
Monitoring & Performance Tuning: Use
Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, or Splunk
for system monitoring and logging. Optimize
kernel parameters, system resources, and application performance .
Incident Response & Support: Provide
Level 2/3 support
for Red Hat systems. Participate in
incident management, root cause analysis, and problem resolution . Document solutions, best practices, and SOPs for IT teams.
Required Qualifications & Experience: 5+ years
of experience working with
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7/8/9 . Strong knowledge of
Linux system administration, networking, and security . Experience with
automation tools
(Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef). Proficiency in
scripting languages
(Bash, Python, Perl). Familiarity with
containerization
(Docker, Podman) and
Kubernetes/OpenShift . Experience with
cloud platforms
(AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments. Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working in
enterprise IT environments . Red Hat
Certified Engineer (RHCE)
or
Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with
high-availability clustering and disaster recovery
solutions. Familiarity with
CI/CD pipelines
and DevOps practices. Knowledge of
Red Hat Satellite, Foreman, or Spacewalk
for system management. Experience working in
regulated environments (FedRAMP, DoD, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, etc.) .
