As a Plumber at Polk Mechanical, you'll be instrumental in the installation, modification, and repair of critical utility, supply, and disposal systems. You'll work with a diverse range of fixtures, fittings, and equipment, including everything from sewage and water lines to compressed air, vacuum, and even specialized acid systems. Your expertise will ensure the seamless functionality of essential building infrastructure in commercial and healthcare environments.
You'll play a crucial role in our projects, responsible for:
Assembling and Installing: Expertly installing, assembling, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures for heating, water, and drainage systems. Reading Blueprints: Interpreting blueprints and accurately laying out plumbing systems for both underground rough-in and top-out phases. Ensuring Code Compliance: Applying your understanding of plumbing codes across different jurisdictions. Diverse System Installation: Installing DWV (Drain, Waste, and Vent systems), domestic hot and cold-water piping, and acid waste systems in new construction and remodels. Specialized Systems: Installing natural gas systems and medical gas systems (including vacuum, O2, Medical Air, and nitrogen) in commercial buildings and hospitals. Fixture Setting: Precisely setting plumbing fixtures for commercial buildings and hospitals. Advanced Techniques: Performing soldering and brazing copper tubing, threading steel pipe, and utilizing Pro Press techniques. Leak Detection: Filling pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observing pressure gauges to accurately detect and locate leaks. Structural Modifications: Cutting openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings using hand and power tools. Underground Systems: Installing underground storm, sanitary, and water piping systems and extending piping to these systems. What You'll Bring:
Commercial Plumbing Expertise: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a commercial plumbing environment. HVAC/Mechanical Background: Prior experience in the HVAC/Mechanical industry in a commercial capacity. Licensure: A current State Plumbing license (or be qualified to sit for the exam in Texas immediately). Technical Proficiency: The ability to read blueprints, lay out complex plumbing systems, and an understanding of plumbing codes. Hands-on Skills: Proficiency in soldering and brazing copper tubing, threading steel pipe, and using Pro Press (recommended). Industrial experience is a plus! Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to your work and a commitment to punctuality. Strong Work Ethic: An excellent attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment. Must have a valid driver's license Benefits:
