Focus:
The Sr. ABB DCS Associate is responsible for driving global value through strategic use of the ABB 800xA Process Automation platform. The role develops strategies for software, hardware upgrades, and safety system support to optimize technology utilization. It coordinates across capital projects, Process Tech Centers, plants, and the PA Technology Center. As Olin's global expert in ABB DCS applications and hardware, the associate ensures the retention and advancement of Process Automation technologies and best practices. The role provides strategic direction to plant PA teams in alignment with the Global PA Technology Plan and supports all PA aspects for approximately 10,000 input/output signals across three plants worldwide.
Sr. ABB DCS Associate Essential Responsibilities: Owns, develops and maintains fundamental standards, work process, tools and documentation for the ABB DCS platform. Defines strategy for version management and upgrades for the platform (lifecycle strategy, reliability/spare part strategy). Provides expert knowledge & advanced technology training for SMEs, maintains corporate memory and guides/mentors Level-1 plant teams. Leads advanced Level-2 troubleshooting efforts, RCAs and acts as Functional Safety Engineer for the platform. Engages with other teams and OEMs to identify and support productivity opportunities. Keeps up with new external technology developments and defines associated Olin strategy. Technical Interface to 3rd party experts as client representative. Sr. ABB DCS Associate Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree* in a scientific or engineering discipline; chemical engineering or process automation-related discipline preferred. 12 years of relevant process automation, manufacturing or improvement experience. In-depth expert knowledge with ABB DCS platform (hardware and software), Olin's ABB library, tools for code development, control strategy and general process control design, MES graphics, and experience with continuous and batch plants. Proven excellent interpersonal and communication skills across businesses, functions, organizational layers, cultures and companies. Proven ability to work under general direction and broad practices with complex tasks of non-routine character. Excellent judgment and calculated risk-taking abilities. Experience with network technology, AspenTech IP21 applications, interfaces to 3rd Party Devices (Bently-Nevada, LIMS, etc.), or PLCs preferred
*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university.
