POSITION TITLE: Incoming Quality Inspector
DEPARTMENT: Assembly
JOB SUMMARY/SKILLS:
The Incoming Quality Inspector performs incoming material audits, line inspections, and finished product inspections to ensure all products and materials meet or exceed internal and external customer specifications. This role inspects and approves labels, boxes, code dates, and packing materials. Additional duties include pulling samples, approving and releasing product process materials, and placing non-conforming products on hold.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting quality control checks, including case counts and packing attributes (registration, sliver). Verify packing integrity, perform weight checks, and complete quality control checklists. Performing AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) inspections. Conducting sensory evaluations (color, appearance, and odor.) Maintaining out-of-spec log sheets and ensuring compliance with quality policies, including quality control procedures, non-conforming materials procedures, GMP policies, and aseptic sampling. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities (both written and verbal), and problem-solving skills. The ability to facilitate activities and achieve results without direct personnel or process control is essential. Candidates should be detail-oriented, team players, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Qualifications:
Ability to read and write. Strong basic math skills. Experience in quality control is preferred but not required. Strong technical knowledge and manufacturing experience in a flexible packaging operation are preferred.
Additional Requirements:
Exposure to high noise levels; personal protective equipment is required. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity. Self-motivated, capable of working independently and making quick, critical decisions when necessary. Ability to interpret and respond to others' concerns based on verbal and non-verbal communication. Proactive in anticipating customer needs and promptly facilitating essential solutions. Conduct all business professionally and ethically, treating people with respect and fairness. Demonstrate personal commitment to continuous improvement and foster positive interpersonal relationships as part of a team. This position may require standing for extended periods and working in a warehouse environment where adherence to safety protocols is essential.
