Description
Opportunity to work for one of the largest North American Full-Service Logistics, Auto Servicing and Processing Companys in the Nation. Providing a variety of services for Auto Manufacturers, including loading and unloading new vehicles onto railcars, installing accessories, body repair, and general vehicle inspection and processing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Safely and efficiently direct all train and equipment movement within a specified territory byremote activation of switches, signals, clearance forms and blocking devices. Provide protection to employees working on the right of way by removing and restoringtracks to and from service Prepare and maintain accurate records related to trainmovements, track assignments and other events. Monitor radio, telephone, computer screens and other equipment for train movements,track movement and other relevant information and issues in territories controlled. Communicate relevant information to others clearly,effectivelyand according to protocolregarding train routing, track conditions and any other special circumstances. Maintain familiarity with train schedules, destinations and departure and arrival times. Coordinate track usage with the Management. Prepare information reporting on time performance and delays of areas controlled. Manage unexpected and emergency events. Qualifications
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
Skilled in exercising independent judgment. Ability to anticipate and analyze problems and take corrective actions. Must be able to maintain attentiveness and evaluate a situation to make quick decisions under pressure. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task Must be able to function effectively under changing priorities. Reading comprehension ability Knowledge of operating and safety rules Knowledge of physical characteristics Must be safety conscious. QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a current valid Driver's License & good driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the past 12 months and no more than 3 in the last 3 years) Able to drive automatic vehicles and pass onsite Driver Test. Knowing how to drive a manual vehicle is preferred but not required. Able to stand, walk, and work outdoors in all weather conditions. Able to lift 35 to 40lbs. Have good visual and auditory ability. Inspects cars to detect damage and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice. Positive behavior and conduct in the workplace. Ensure Yard quality standards are maintained. Must have experience using Microsoft Word Software.
