ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
A dynamic and fast-growing professional services company is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer (COO) to drive operational performance and lead the organization through its next phase of growth. With an annual revenue of ~$30M and aggressive growth goals, this is a pivotal executive leadership opportunity for a hands-on operator who thrives in scaling businesses and aligning teams for execution The COO will report directly to the CEO and play a key role in shaping and executing company strategy, driving efficiency, and building scalable systems to support sustained expansion
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee day-to-day operations across two core departments: Client service operations for the Outsourcing business; Finance and Accounting Collaborate with Sales and Relationship Management teams to enhance profitability, streamline workflows, and improve client retention Translate strategic objectives into operational plans and execute them across departments Lead, mentor, and develop department heads to foster a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability Build and refine scalable systems, processes, and performance metrics to support long-term growth Identify operational inefficiencies and implement strategic solutions to improve productivity and cost-effectiveness Provide financial oversight, ensuring sound decisions around budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation Act as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on all operational and growth initiatives After 12 months: Expand scope to include additional business units and internal departments. May also support M&A activity, integration efforts, and new market expansion
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 10+ years of progressive experience in operations leadership, with at least 3 years in a senior executive role (COO, SVP Operations, GM, etc.) Demonstrated success in scaling operations from ~$20M to $50M+ in revenue Strong command of financial reporting, budget management, and performance metrics Experience building operational systems in fast-paced, high-growth environments Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive cultural alignment Data-driven, process-oriented, and highly organized with strong execution capabilities Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills Background in corporate back-office services, outsourcing, or professional services is strongly preferred Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
