Accountant Job Description for a manufacturing company like ******* Job Summary The accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial transactions and records. The role ensures the accuracy of financial information, prepares financial statements, and assists in budgetary planning and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience with accounting software in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities Manage transactions: Process and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries. Financial reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for senior management. Month-end and year-end closing: Perform and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Financial analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost reduction and process improvement. Budgeting and forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts. Inventory management: Assist with the monthly tracking and reconciliation of physical inventory. Audit and tax compliance: Prepare for and assist with financial audits and tax preparations, ensuring compliance with all financial policies and regulations. Fixed assets: Maintain and reconcile the company's fixed assets and tooling. Systems and processes: Utilize and maintain accounting software (e.g., ERP) and identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Proven experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or similar industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting. Experience with ERP systems is highly desirable. Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
