Job Description
Industrial Maintenance Process Technicians are responsible for maintaining, repairing and optimizing blow molding machines to produce plastic drums.
Key Responsibilities: Maintaining and repairing blow molding machines Responsible for safety and quality throughout shift Set up and troubleshoot blow molding machines to manufacture plastic drums according to specifications. Ensuring quality and meeting production specifications, while also troubleshooting and making necessary adjustments. Monitor the molding process, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot issues that arise during the molding process and perform repairs on equipment and molds. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and make necessary adjustments to the process. Mold setup, changeovers, and cleaning, ensuring molds are in good working order. Identify areas for improvement in cycle time, labor efficiency, and other aspects of the blow molding process. Report any conditions of concern regarding products, materials, or safety immediately to Plant Leadership. Performs other duties as required by Supervisor or Manager Requirements:
Prior experience and background in Blow molding and maintenance. Candidates with experience in other related processes will be considered (i.e. Injection molding, Injection blow molding, Injection stretch blow molding, Extrusion Blow molding) Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions Troubleshoot problems and report issues Must be able to work well in a team environment, in coordination between the entire team. Physical Requirements:
The plant facility runs 24 hours a day, 5 days a week consistently, excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down. Requires good hand/eye/foot coordination. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud environments, fumes or airborne particles. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Use of hands and fingers to perform job function with hand tools as needed up to full scheduled shift. Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk and climb, for the duration of the shift. Troubleshoot problems and report issues Ability to lift as needed up to 55lbs during scheduled shift. Vision: 20/20 corrected; and normal hearing range The work environment is loud, with machinery running continuously. Hearing protection (earplugs or earmuffs) is required in production areas. The work environment is inside, however not climate controlled. Exposed to both heat and cold depending on the daily weather conditions outside. The ability to wear all required personal protective equipment for the position they are assigned to each day. This equipment can include some or all: hard hat, ear plugs, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, cut resistant gloves, cut resistant sleeves, and high-visibility clothing.
