SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Extrusion Machine Set-Up/Operator sets-up, adjusts, and operates a variety of machines including multislide, fourslide, and vertical forming machines to perform close tolerance work requiring a high degree of skill. Diagnose and rectify tooling problems and machine malfunctions. Usually work is of a complicated nature having critical and exacting requirements as to tolerance and finish. Work with minimal supervision from drawings, specifications, and job instructions. Use a variety of precision measuring instruments including optical comparators. Responsible for part quality and efficiency.

Set-up, adjust, and operate extrusion machine to form, bend and punch a variety of work Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates Use caliper, micrometer, comparator & other measuring equipment Sorting and packaging parts Verify quantity & quality of material Complete & maintain all required paperwork Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards Responsible for strict adherence to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations Other duties as assigned or required QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.
Highly motivated self starter Strong mechanical aptitude Requires 6-12 months of relevant manufacturing experience Good math skills Basic blueprint reading, reading, & writing skills Regular attendance is required; punctual, dependable Strong attention to detail Regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle or touch or pull objects, tools, or controls Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision & depth perception Occasionally required to sit, reach above shoulders, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, & bend Maintains a safe and clean work environment Ability to work overtime when required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required to sit and talk or hear; occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
