We are partnered with an established, consumer products organization who is seeking a Senior Accountant. This role is focused on general ledger accounting and will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a CPA with a strong foundation in public accounting, public company experience, and an understanding of large ERP systems. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review journal entries and general ledger reconciliations for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. Assist with preparation of SEC reporting schedules and audit support documentation. Analyze and investigate variances in financial data, providing insights and recommendations. Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., FP&A, Supply Chain, Operations) to ensure appropriate accounting treatment of transactions. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve existing accounting processes and controls. Maintain and improve internal control documentation to support SOX compliance. Assist with implementation and optimization of ERP processes and financial systems. Qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including: Public accounting experience (Big 4 or large regional firm preferred), Public company experience, ideally in a SOX-compliant environment and/or consumer products industry experience Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of GAAP. Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards). Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analysis. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
