Responsibilities Develop and deliver engaging biology lessons for students at various levels (middle school, high school, or advanced courses). Use diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments. Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Collaborate with faculty to create and refine curriculum materials to meet the school’s educational goals. Maintain an orderly classroom, address student behavior, and promote respectful conduct. Encourage and guide students in collaborative and individual work. Provide timely feedback on progress and support students to improve. Offer additional help during office hours, study sessions, or one-on-one mentoring as needed. Advise students on college and career pathways, particularly in science-related fields. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred for advanced courses). Prior experience teaching biology at middle or high school level; private/independent school experience preferred. Experience designing and delivering hands-on experiments and using laboratory equipment. Experience with advanced courses (e.g., AP Biology, IB Biology) is a plus. Strong understanding of physics principles, theories, and concepts. Ability to explain complex topics clearly and engagingly. Proficiency in laboratory practices and safety protocols. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering curiosity and passion for biology. Skill in addressing diverse learning needs. Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning. Ability to integrate technology into biology instruction, including simulations, virtual labs, and multimedia presentations. Additional Qualities Passion for biology and education.
