2nd Shift Custodian
Full Time, 260 Day position, 2nd Shift (2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) This position is to provide students and employees with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to work, learn, play, and develop. This position works with a minimum of direction.
$19.42hr/ $20.42 hr after probationary period.
Essential Functions:
Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation (includes regular refinishing procedures and vacuuming). Scrubs, hoses down, and disinfects toilet floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily. Cleans corridors after school each day and during the day, when their condition requires it. Sees that the grounds, parking lots, closets, and basements are kept in good order and free from rubbish. Cleans all chalkboards daily. Keeps steps, walks, and entrances to the building clean at all times. Washes windows, both inside and outside the building when necessary. Cleans and polishes furniture and woodwork. Empties and cleans waste receptacles. Make minor repairs to equipment. Be available to load and unload general supplies, furniture, or any other equipment or material that is shipped in or out of the building. Report daily to the Head Custodian any equipment that is not working properly. Report any damage in the building to the Head Custodian so quick action may be taken to correct the problem. Be available for emergency cleanup, i.e., someone gets sick, glass gets broken, spills, etc. Be able to run a cleaning and scrubbing crew. Keep custodial supply shelves in receiving room stacked and in a neat manner. Keep inventory of custodial supplies and equipment in his/her area. Write up orders for all supplies and materials needed for the school and give to the Head Custodian. Help set up for all activities in the building such as: dances, banquets, school board meetings, programs in the auditorium, commencement in the gymnasium, and outside bleachers and benches for all sports activities when necessary. Cooperate with all staff personnel. Keep receiving area cleaned up and keep free of all custodial equipment. Replace light bulbs when necessary in his/her assigned area. Keep towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and toilet paper racks filled daily. Do any task assigned to him/her by Supervision.
