Job Description

This position oversees the daily operations of the FSQA Department to ensure quality, customer service, and production goals are consistently met or exceeded. All activities must comply with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as SQF and company standards, with a strong emphasis on food safety, quality, service, and cost efficiency.

Duties and responsibilities Supervise FSQA department staff, ensure adequate staffing schedules, and assign daily tasks to support production, shipping, and receiving. Verifies and maintains HACCP, Pre-requisite, and Food Safety and Quality Plans in accordance with SQF standards. Implement the overall Quality Systems and Food Safety and Quality programs Provides input on validating plans and programs. Provides all initial and continuous training programs for quality inspectors, including goods and the broader employee population as needed. Responsible for evaluating the performance of each quality team member and recommending any necessary corrective actions. Maintains quality records in compliance with local government, FDA, USDA, SQF, and company retention policies. Assists with the implementation of the facility's environmental testing program, ensuring compliance with all customer and regulatory standards. Collaborates with production, maintenance, and warehouse supervisors and personnel to effectively resolve and eliminate problems. Maintains Test/Approve/Hold/Reject/Disposition of raw materials, in-process, and finished products. Coordinates with production and warehouse to control and improve material handling, storage, and usage. Supports plant trials and process improvements. Assists FSQA Director with supplier issues, root cause analysis, and customer complaint resolution. Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline. Must be HACCP and GFSI certified; PCQI certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years recent leadership experience in the food industry, particularly in quality assurance, food safety, or auditing roles. Strong written and oral communication skills, including report writing, presenting findings, and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams. Must be available to work Sundays and other flexible hours as needed (including holidays and overtime). Must read, write, and speak English (Bilingual in Spanish preferred). Must be able to manage operations across multiple buildings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficient in Office 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and database management tools. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills to analyze quality and safety issues, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement. Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and flexibility to effectively manage shifting priorities and work schedules in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong leadership, communication, and training skills. Business Central knowledge a plus Working conditions

Cold, wet, and fast-paced and wet manufacturing environment. Temperature ranges between 34°F and 38°F. Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and cleaning chemicals. Standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs. for extended periods. Employees in QA positions may be exposed to laboratory chemicals used in titration, including acid-based substances that can cause skin or eye irritation or burns if proper safety precautions are not followed. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided. Physical requirements
