Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk operations in a busy medical office, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients while efficiently handling administrative tasks. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with medical terminology, particularly in a dental setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure the confidentiality of patient information.
  • Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services offered.
  • Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
  • Manage phone calls, including answering questions, directing calls, and taking messages as necessary.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth and Dentrix for data entry and retrieval.
  • Assist with clerical tasks, including filing, scanning documents, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Communicate effectively

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical office is preferred.
  • Strong clerical skills with proficiency in administrative tasks.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Proficient in computer skills for data entry and management of medical records.
