Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Designer to join our Women's Sportswear tech design team.
The Technical Designer will play a crucial role in turning creative design concepts into high-quality, production-ready garments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fabric technology, as well as a passion for fashion innovation. This individual will be the bridge between the design team and production, ensuring that designs are executed with precision and adhere to brand standards.
Key Responsibilities: Create and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction/stitching and fit evaluation comment. Work closely with overseas vendors to develop accurate patterns and ensure proper fit across different sizes. Conduct fitting sessions and provide constructive feedback to ensure the highest quality garment. Collaborate with the Technical Design Manager and cross-functional partners to land on an appropriate fit and functional intent for each product design. Ensure that all garment specifications are clearly defined, including measurements, stitching techniques, and finishing details. Conduct quality checks to ensure that products meet the company's standards and address any discrepancies found during production. Work closely with manufacturers to ensure consistent quality across all production runs. Act as a liaison between the design team and manufacturers to ensure seamless production, troubleshooting any technical issues during the process. Track and manage workflow and workload for own product. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, adapt to rapidly changing priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives. Maintain professional and timely email correspondence with overseas vendors. Ability to work in a productive and effective manner in a fast-paced environment Qualifications:
Education: Graduate with a degree in Fashion Technical Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience:
Minimum 5-6 years as a Technical Designer, preferably with active wear and ready-to-wear. Experience with jumpsuits, dresses, fashion tops, and jackets required. Technical Skills: Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Full circle is a plus. Pattern Making & Garment Construction: Solid understanding of pattern making, grading, and garment construction techniques. Fit Analysis: Experience in conducting fit sessions and pattern-making adjustments to achieve a perfect fit. Fabric Knowledge: Knowledge of different fabrics, finishes, and how they affect garment construction and fit. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure designs are accurately translated from concept to final product. Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating across departments and with external vendors.

Experience with Gerber Accumark.
