Responsible for the fine polishing of precision optical components such as lenses, mirrors, and prisms to meet strict surface accuracy, roughness, and cosmetic quality standards. This role is critical in supporting the production of high-performance optical systems for applications across multiple industries with strict conformance to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Polishes flat optics and spherical optics made of industry standard materials for customer supplied specification. Inspects, block, deblock and clean pre-polished and polished elements as necessary. Perform testing methods necessary to ensure the quality specifications of components are being met. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Interpret and understand blueprints for quoting purposes. Demonstrate best practices of handling, fabricating, cleaning, and testing of optics. Run multiple spindles or pieces of polishing equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and improve processes. Follow all cleanroom protocols and safety procedures. Qualifications:

Education and Experience :

2+ years of experience with double sided lappers, over arm polishing spindles or planetary polishers in the optical/photonics space. CNC polishing is beneficial. This role requires compliance with ITAR regulations. All employees working in this capacity must meet citizenship status. Employee must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident. Skills & Competencies:

Proficient with the following equipment: interferometer, auto collimator and spherometers. Read, interpret and understand blueprints for quoting purposes. Detail-oriented approach to work.
