Painter Job duties;
Includes, but not limited to having the ability to work in a fast paced and high-level customer service-orientated environment; to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner never compromising quality; to work as part of a team as well as to complete assignments independently to exercise problem solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, guests and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.
Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate ability to identify different paint blends, bases and sheens including, but not limited to enamels, latex, oil bases, semi-gloss, high gloss, eggshell, low-lust, flat sheens. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate ability to prep different surfaces (metal, wood, plastic, stone, sheetrock, plaster, etc.) as well as proper application techniques for each surface and condition. Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate ability to choose proper application tools, i.e., sprayer, roller & nap, brush types, when applying paint, sealers, varnishes, concrete paints, wood stains, etc. to match specific texture, sheen for consistent appearance of surface. Install and patch wall vinyl / wall paper Repair, refinish furniture and other wood surfaces Maintain a clean work area at all times using drop cloths, tape, plastic tenting, etc. Work in a safe manner at all times, protecting self, team members, guests from any hazardous exposure to paint, solvents and other chemicals as well as cutting, sanding and use of sharp tools, ladders, compressors and other tools. Ability to interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned which may include moving furniture area rugs, assemble and disassemble furniture, clean up spills and leaks, 2 -5 years of verifiable commercial painting experience. One year or more upscale hotel experience preferred
