Job Title: Asbestos Supervisor
Position Summary: The Asbestos Supervisor is responsible for overseeing asbestos abatement projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and state environmental agencies. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of hazardous material handling, and a commitment to safety and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and direct asbestos abatement crews on job sites. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure proper use of PPE and containment procedures. Maintain and submit accurate project documentation including daily reports, exposure records, and waste manifests. Coordinate with project managers, clients, and regulatory agencies during inspections or project reviews. Monitor air sampling results and implement corrective actions when necessary. Assist in setting up and dismantling containment areas. Respond to emergencies or changes in scope with effective on-site decision-making. Qualifications:
Valid
Asbestos Supervisor Certification
as required by state law (e.g., EPA AHERA or state-accredited training). 2-3 years of asbestos abatement experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures, regulations, and safety protocols. Ability to read and interpret project plans and technical documents. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to travel to various job sites as required. Work Conditions:
Frequently works in environments containing hazardous materials. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and protective suits. May work nights or weekends depending on project schedules. Physically demanding: includes lifting, climbing, standing for long periods, and working in confined spaces.
