Position Overview
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventative maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Functions
Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment Provide emergency repairs of production equipment and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service Perform maintenance duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities Continually inspect the manufacturing area for mechanical & electrical issues Utilize a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision Anticipate snow removal and salting, along with grounds maintenance as required. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Interact with contractors and provide guidance on projects/repairs Able to work in a team environment Able to work independently and provide some guidance to other technicians. Shift Third Shift: 9:30pm - 8:00am, Sunday - Wednesday OR Monday - Thursday, or as job responsibilities require Pay $26.71 - $38.73 / Hour plus a shift premium Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Technical degree in Industrial Technology or related field required, related experience considered Certifications/Licenses Valid Driver's License required Experience 5+ years of mechanical experience Experience in mechanical repairs including drives, motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics Experience with building systems and basic utility repairs Experience in electrical troubleshooting and repairs Experience in function of maintenance in a manufacturing environment preferred Specialized Knowledge & Skills Ability to work independently and provide some guidance to other technicians Knowledge of low and high-pressure hydraulics Knowledge and understanding of pneumatics Knowledge of mechanical repairs, drives, and motors Knowledge of industrial PLC's desirable Skills in electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and safety Knowledge of HVAC or refrigeration systems Fabrication experience (i.e. Welding, Milling and Turning etc.) Experience with CMMS systems a plus Proficient computer knowledge in Microsoft Office Good documentation and organizational skills Service-oriented team player who has a positive can-do attitude; is flexible, responsive, proactive, and self-motivated Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in order to meet deadlines Necessary Competencies Adaptability/Flexibility Interpersonal Analytical/Detail-Oriented Customer Focus Communication (verbal and written) Decisiveness/Decision Making Skills Problem Solving Quality Safety/Security Planning/Organizing Initiative Ethics/Integrity Benefits Package
