Description

The Configuration Manager will support product and software configuration management, including testing to enhance automation and product capabilities. This role requires experience managing configuration programs to ensure all proposed and actual changes to technology and documentation are properly evaluated, approved, and tracked. The Configuration Manager will oversee the change notification process, ensuring timely updates and communication to project teams and performing organizations regarding change activities.

Position Responsibilities:

Enhance Veteran Affairs staff expertise by developing guidance across the system development lifecycle (SDLC) to implement formal Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), processes, and procedures. This includes Configuration, Change, and Release Management with emphasis on access control, source code and baseline management, development/test environment oversight, and ensuring compliance with FISMA NIST SP 800-53 standards. Product/software configuration management and testing to evolve automation and product capabilities. Assist with translating and/or documenting/diagraming recommendations and deliverables for product assurance and CI/CD directions. Develop and refine AI prompts to analyze various NIST-related CM documents, including CM Plans, policies, and procedures. Support and assist with CI/CD pathway implementations and setup Complete systems, CM functional, technical, and operational analysis and management. Author and present information for analysis, training, documentation, presentations, and reports. Support program development through documentation, training, service delivery, and mentoring of project teams and configuration managers. Leverage product management and configuration/lifecycle tools, including Jira, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, ServiceNow, and various open-source CI/CD and repository solutions. Knowledge of CI-CD, automation, and cloud concepts, as well as tools and cloud services to support them. Expertise in aggregating data, implementing dashboards, and communications applications. Create both the big picture and details for organizational program analysis, estimate and/or participate in estimating, and strategize implementation alternatives for large systems programs and operations. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

Experience with NIST SP 800-53 security controls and NIST SP 128 impact system and product CM solutions. Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) Experience with Power BI skillset that can be applied directly to automate CM activities. Proven expertise in software configuration management for complex systems, including concurrent development, source control, versioning, baselines, repository management, audits, and supporting technical teams. Proven experience supporting full system lifecycles, including requirements development, traceability, functional and physical audits, and creating change management processes and learning resources. Experience implementing configuration and automation management tools and processes, with expertise in System Development Lifecycle (SDLC), DevSecOps, CI/CD frameworks, automation testing, and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Expertise in configuration management analysis, process development, solutions delivery, and CI/CD/testing automation, with strong skills in presenting information through documentation, training, and reports. Expertise using Jira, Git/GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium, ServiceNow, and a wide variety of open source, CI/CD and repository tools. Proven expertise with Azure DevSecOps for dashboard development and reporting, including CI/CD, automation, cloud services, and data aggregation to support tools and applications. Occasional travel may be required to government sites or for stakeholder meetings. Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering 7 years' experience 5 years minimum experience on VA OIT contracts as a Configuration Manager Active VA Public Trust clearance (preferred) Must be able to get and maintain a government Public Trust. Why Join Sierra7?
