Job Description:
Garfield Heights City Schools is seeking enthusiastic and committed Club Advisors to support student organizations at the high school level. Club Advisors play an essential role in guiding students as they explore interests, develop leadership skills, and engage in meaningful extracurricular activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about student development, capable of fostering a safe and inclusive environment, and able to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Mentorship:
Provide direction, guidance, and mentorship to club members, encouraging teamwork, responsibility, and personal growth. Program Development:
Help establish, organize, and sustain the club's mission, activities, and goals in alignment with district policies. Meeting Facilitation:
Plan and oversee regular club meetings, events, and activities to ensure productive engagement. Compliance:
Ensure that all club activities follow Garfield Heights City Schools policies and procedures. Student Support:
Foster leadership opportunities and encourage student-led planning and decision-making. Community Engagement:
Promote positive relationships with families, staff, and community members to strengthen club visibility and support. Supervision:
Provide oversight during all club-related meetings, activities, and events to ensure safety and inclusivity. Record Keeping:
Maintain attendance, participation records, and activity documentation as required by the school or district. Collaboration:
Work with administrators, staff, and student leaders to align club goals with school-wide initiatives. Other Duties:
Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by building administration. Qualifications:
Valid Pupil Activity Permit with the Ohio Department of Education (if required based on club activity) Satisfactory BCI/FBI background checks Prior experience working with high school students preferred Strong communication, organizational, and mentoring skills Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all students
