Designer I Bradford, PA 12+ Month Contract Pay Range: 25 - 33/hr, W 2

Description: 100% on site

Responsibilities: • Demonstrate and direct a solid commitment to all aspects of safety. • Utilize construction standards and engineering practices to complete single- and 3-phase overhead and underground designs to serve residential, commercial, and industrial requests. • Support job progress through customer contacts, field work, job packages, and job closeout functions including material review and paperwork verification. • Facilitate billing functions for line extension and applicable relocation work, including billing recommendations in non-routine scenarios. • Facilitate completion of outage management system (OMS) follow-up requests, inspection and maintenance repairs, streetlight installation and replacement, claims, Transmission priority repairs, aerial patrol findings, and Job & Contracting (J&C) projects. • Acquire permits related to railroad, Department of Transportation, and municipality road right-of-way. • Collaborate with customers to secure and document easements for line extensions and highway relocation work. • Update and maintain compliant records to support technical reports, metrics, and information systems. • Travel to various off-site locations as required, includingoffices, training facilities, and customer sites. • Provide ongoing assistance during emergencies and storm-related activities. • Attend all required regulatory training. • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications at the level I include: Proficiency (Level I): Employee is in a learning curve with minimal experience, acquiring new skills and discipline-specific knowledge. • Associate degree in a technical discipline is required. Consideration will be given to applicants having a minimum of 2 years extensive multi-disciplined technical and operational background in lieu of a college degree. • Minimum 0-3 years of related design experience is required. • Strong communication skills including the ability to guide decision-making or consensus, negotiate acceptable outcomes, and diffuse challenging situations. • Willingness to seek guidance and advice to fill gaps in understanding. • Strong self-motivation and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to manage shifting priorities. • Ability to interpret complex written and visual information, such as procedures, manuals, drawings, and schematics. • Ability to gain working familiarity with standards, codes, regulations, electrical systems, construction methods, equipment, and safety requirements, including practical applications. • Ability to gain proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Office, SAP, customer request work scheduling (CREWS), outage management system (OMS), and graphic work design (DDS). • Willingness to participate regularly in emergency and storm-related activities, including the ability to work additional hours and/or modified schedules when necessary. • Possession of a valid driver's license and personal vehicle to commute to various facilities and locations as required. • Commitment to Core Values & Behaviors (Safety, Integrity, Stewardship, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Performance Excellence).
