General Summary: Responsible for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repairs of all electrical systems owned and operated by the Capital Region Airport Commission. These will include all normal building related systems, landside lighting for parking lots and roadways, and specialized systems that are specifically related to the commercial airport industry.

Certificates/Security Clearances/Other
Completion of a technical or apprenticeship program in the electrical trade. Possession of a Virginia State Electrical Master License is required. State of Virginia Journeyman's License is required.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Possession of a valid Virginia Driver's License; ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge. The person should have the ability to evaluate and learn new systems quickly as they relate to internal processes. May be required to respond to emergency callbacks. Required to carry maintenance callback pager on a rotating basis. Must have a telephone/cell phone in residence. Must have a valid Virginia State Motor Vehicle Operator's License. May be required to obtain a Commercial Driver's license. May be required to participate in the snow removal program. Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift at heights up to 50 feet.

Required Experience:
- HS Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience involving commercial electrical system maintenance and repair.
- Completion of a technical or apprenticeship program in the electrical trade.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain a Virginia State Electrical certification at the Journeyman level is preferred but not mandatory.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all CRAC owned electrical systems and equipment to include the following:
- Runway and taxiway airfield lighting and control systems. This includes fixture relamping, fixture rebuilding and underground cable fault locating and repair.
- Electrical service and distribution equipment in the airfield lighting vaults. This includes troubleshooting and repairing constant current regulators, lighting control systems, emergency generators and automatic transfer switches.
- Automatic vehicle gates include both mechanical and electrical components.
