About the Role: We are looking for a skilled and motivated Histotech Supervisor to join our pathology team in Orlando. This role is ideal for a working supervisor-someone who leads by example and enjoys being hands-on in all aspects of histology. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in embedding, staining, and tissue processing, while also supervising daily lab operations and mentoring team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and complex histology procedures including grossing, embedding, microtomy, staining (H&E and special stains), immunohistochemistry, and coverslipping. Oversee and coordinate daily lab workflow to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing. Supervise and assist histotechnicians and support staff, providing training, guidance, and quality control feedback. Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, OSHA, and internal quality standards. Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot instrumentation, and manage inventory of reagents and supplies. Monitor and maintain documentation for quality control, lab logs, and regulatory readiness. Serve as a liaison between the pathology team and clinical/administrative departments. Qualifications:
ASCP certification (HT or HTL) required. Minimum 5 years of histology lab experience, including grossing and staining, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Proficiency in routine histologic techniques and safety protocols. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities. Compensation: $40/hr - $45/hr
