Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
Pre-registration and full registration
Obtaining Scottish Rite consent paperwork, notifying patients of patient rights, privacy notices
Collection of identification, guarantor information and insurance coverages
Insurance verification
Obtaining co-payments for services rendered
Patient intake/referral process and new patient scheduling for some patients
Scheduling of follow-up appointments; required coordination with clinical team
Management of incoming calls (messages, transfers, scheduling)
Obtaining and managing referrals
Management and distribution of all incoming departmental faxes
Scanning of clinical record information and correspondence to EPIC medical record
Patient Access Representative works closely with Patient Access Representative Lead on any issues, patient complaints, etc.
Required Skills/Abilities
High school degree or equivalent required Associate degree in Secretarial Science or related field preferred Knowledge of hospital/clinic routine or previous medical receptionist experience helpful A minimum typing speed of 35 wpm required Ability to manage multi-line phone system and headset needed Demonstrates basic knowledge of child development in order to communicate effectively with infant, toddler, preschool, school age and adolescent children as well as their families and adults Good computer and public relations skills needed
