Foundation Executive

The Foundation Executive leads the growth and fundraising efforts of the DeKalb Schools Educational Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting the DeKalb County School District (DCSD). This strategic, people-focused leader brings expertise in nonprofit fundraising, planning, and team management. The Foundation envisions every DCSD student graduating with a meaningful diploma and a resilient plan for success.

Essential Functions:



Collaborate with DCSD leadership and the Foundation Board of Directors to align growth and revenue strategies with the organization's mission. •

Set clear fundraising goals and performance metrics. •

Lead a multi-channel fundraising strategy-including individual giving, corporate and foundation partnerships, events, and planned giving-to diversify revenue and deepen donor engagement. •

Stay current on philanthropic trends and apply innovative practices to expand funding opportunities beyond traditional methods. •

Engage the Foundation Board of Directors and the DeKalb County community in fundraising and stewardship efforts. •

Ensure efficient, data-driven development operations that support annual budget goals. •

Oversee the execution of fundraising initiatives and events, utilizing tools for tracking and forecasting. •

Partner with DCSD's Division of Finance to ensure compliance and accurate reporting. •

Coordinate with DCSD's Communications Department to align fundraising efforts with organizational goals and messaging; communicate progress regularly to stakeholders. •

Promote a culture of philanthropy across DCSD and DeKalb County. •

Secure significant gifts and sponsorships while building a strong pipeline of future funders. •

Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS •

A Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, ideally in a related field from a Georgia PSC-accredited institution. •

A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising, major donor engagement, and corporate partnerships, with a strong track record of scaling philanthropic efforts. •

Proven experience in fundraising, nonprofit management, or foundation work, particularly in collaboration with or reporting to a volunteer board.
