Role & Responsibility
In collaboration with Ambulatory manager and physician leaders this role provides oversight of the clinical and operational services provided in the CHW Sleep Labs and Sleep Center.
Reach scans across Inpatient, Ambulatory and all locations were these services occur. Ensure compliance with hospital policies, legal regulations and adopts Sleep Center standards of care. Acts as liaison to referring physicians and other members of the health care team. Ensures efficient workflow and establishes and monitors outcomes and quality. Supervises Polysomnography Technologists, and Clerical Support Staff. Assumes role and responsibilities of manager in their absence. Schedule This is a 2nd shift role (3p-11:30p CST); ability to flex as the need arises.
Education - Certification - License
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT/PSG) required and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred. A Bachelor's degree in business or a degree in a related field required. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Five years of experience as Polysomnography Technologist or Respiratory Therapist. Knowledge & Skills
Previous work experience in a Pediatric Sleep Laboratory is preferred. Progressive experience working from a night tech to lead tech is preferred. Analytical skills necessary to resolve complex clinical problems relating to the integration of anatomy and physiology to sleep/wake pathology and patient safety and welfare. Must be able to work independently and demonstrate effective time management skills. Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact with interdisciplinary health team members and consumers. Able to work flexible hours to meet patient and department needs. Ability to sit and carefully monitor patients and score polysomnograms for several continuous hours. Ability to maintain vigilance in a quiet, sometimes dimly lit environment. Ability to push or pull equipment up to 170 lbs. and lift equipment/supplies up to 25 lbs. Ability to lift and move neonatal through adult patient populations.
