Job Description - Human Resources Generalist
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, organization and processes which provides maximum support to the teachers, administrators and support staff.

Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible for the day-to-day operations, organization and processes which provides maximum support to the teachers, administrators and support staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate Daily Substitute per diem employees, including Daily Substitute orientations.
- Processes new hires paperwork (including background check) and meets with new staff members to review paperwork and answer questions.
- Enter new employees and maintain all employee info in MTRS, Fidelity, Aspen, and Harpers systems.
- Assists payroll by reviewing entries and reconciliation reports.
- Assists with the open enrollment process and quality checks of benefits-related forms and data.
- Coordinate with City Retirement and Human Resources staff on benefits-related matters, as needed.
- Assist with human resources projects.
- Manages and reviews fingerprinting results; prepares Suitability letters and reports.
- Processes name and address change requests.
- Assists with the processing of terminations, resignations, and retirements.
- Assists with the open enrollment process.
- Assists with maintaining Longevity records and employee pay records in Harpers according to collective bargaining agreements.
- Reviews and tracks transcript submissions and assists employees with questions regarding the process.
- Becomes familiar with the duties of other team members and assists them with projects in peak flow time, as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficient with or have the ability to quickly learn Harpers Payroll, ASPEN, MTRS, and Fidelity systems.
- Ability to work successfully and collaboratively in a deadline-based environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and data integrity.
- Associate's degree in human resources or a related field of study, or at least three years of experience in a Human Resources role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of school district structure.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Google Workplace.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field of study.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential.
- Experience utilizing Harpers Payroll system, ASPEN, MTRS, and Fidelity.
