Purpose:

The School of Social Work Admissions Office seeks a detail-oriented and proactive Graduate Assistant to support admissions operations and data management. This position is ideal for graduate students in Higher Education Administration or Information Systems who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in graduate admissions, student services, and data systems.

Responsibilities Assist with the processing and tracking of Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) applications using the admissions CRM and university systems. Support communication efforts with prospective students, applicants, and admitted students via email, phone, and virtual platforms. Maintain and update applicant records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Generate reports and dashboards to support admissions decision-making and outreach strategies. Collaborate with staff to improve workflows and enhance the applicant experience. Participate in virtual and in-person recruitment events, including information sessions and webinars. Provide general administrative support to the director of admissions as needed. A minimum 1-year commitment is requested.

Required Qualifications

Enrolled graduate student at UT Austin Minimum 3.0 GPA Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data visualization). Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Capacity to work independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with CRM platforms or willingness to learn (e.g., Slate, MyStatus, EASI). Attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications

Enrolled as a first-year graduate student in a graduate program in Higher Education Administration, Information Systems, or a related field. Experience with data systems and reporting tools. Interest in graduate admissions, student services, or higher education operations. Learning Outcomes

Gain practical experience in graduate admissions and student services. Develop skills in data management, reporting, and CRM systems. Understand the admissions lifecycle and strategies for recruitment and enrollment. Enhance professional communication and administrative competencies. Salary Range

$21.49 hourly / 20 hours per week

* GA roles are not eligible for Tuition Reduction Benefit (TRB)

This position is located in Austin, TX May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Use of manual dexterity. Availability Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Required Materials
