Overview

The Human Resources Generalist is trusted to provide a welcoming and educational experience to all new hires at Armstrong Teasdale through the management and facilitation of orientation. The Generalist will also assist the HR leadership team as they execute many professional development functions such as trainings, annual evaluations and engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with pre-employment procedures such as new hire paperwork and communication before orientation; corresponds with new hires regarding the status of their paperwork
  • Delivers orientation to new hires; creates and manages all orientation schedules across all offices for each newly hired attorney and business professional to ensure consistent and productive onboarding and training
  • Assists the HR leadership team with the planning and facilitation of the annual evaluation process
  • Facilitates stay interviews and exit interviews to identify trends and enhance engagement and retention; effectively balances employee advocacy with strategic business priorities
  • Analyzes stay interview, exit interview, and onboarding survey data to identify trends and action items; communicates action items and partners with leadership to execute suggested plan
  • Supports professional development initiatives across the firm including mentoring and new hire connections
  • Understands the department's HRIS and serves as a back-up on the team for data entry in the database for new hires, compensation changes, title changes, etc
  • Participates in change initiatives and may lead aspects of a change initiative with assistance from HR leadership
  • Maintains accurate personnel files including drafting and filing memos for personal status and compensation changes
  • Monitors HR metrics to identify trends and inform data driven decisions; provides proactive risk mitigation
  • Decision making — Identifies issues and provides suggestions to day to day problems; prioritizes and effectively completes daily tasks
  • Communication — Shares information by using data and information to support an argument or point of view; keeps the team informed about progress and problems; maintains appropriate confidentiality
  • Leadership — Provides constructive feedback, trains new employees, and proactively addresses problems; works autonomously and anticipates future business needs
  • Continuous learning — Identifies self training needs and opportunities; welcomes changes
  • Teamwork — Actively participates in the team and offers feedback and solutions; listens and responds constructively to others

Required Licenses and Certifications

4-6 years working in a Human Resources department; excellent in Microsoft Office
