We're excited to be opening our new Kansas City facility and are looking for a Human Resources Generalist to be the go-to HR partner on-site. In this role, you'll have the chance to work independently, building relationships and supporting employees day-to-day, while also staying closely connected with our HR teammates at other locations. We believe in sharing knowledge, backing each other up, and working together toward our HR team's big-picture goals-so while you'll be the face of HR in Kansas City, you'll always have a strong team behind you.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Facilitate pre-employment screenings and conduct orientations for new hires; is responsible for successful onboarding and training of new employees.
- Effectively manages temporary staffing vendors as well as all aspects of contingent worker's assignment life cycle, including group interviewing, onboarding, managing replacements, etc.
- Benefit plan administration, including health and dental insurance, 401k plans, and paid time off.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for leave management, including FMLA, STD, and workers compensation claims in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Assist and support the weekly payroll processing including the approval of time records of location employees.
- Respond to general questions and inquiries from employees, applicants, and supervisors in all areas of human resources.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; conflicts and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings and terminations.
- Performs monthly audit of First Aid Kits across facility, ensuring compliance.
- Processes departmental Purchase Orders timely.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Other duties and project work as required.
Qualifications of the Position Include:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and progressive Human Resources experience, required.
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws, required.
- Experience in administering FMLA and Workers Compensation, required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, specifically), required.
- Proficiency with (or the ability to quickly learn) the organization's HRIS (Paycom), required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, required.
- Basic benefits administration knowledge, preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
