Based in Des Moines, Iowa, the company operates a USDA-, FDA- and DEA-approved facility. Diamond offers comprehensive services such as Research and Development, Regulatory and Licensing Approvals, Contract Manufacturing and Logistics. We seek a strategic and people-oriented Human Resources Manager to partner with our site leadership team to drive a culture of safety, compliance, and high performance. This role will lead talent acquisition, employee relations, succession planning, talent development, and HRIS optimization to support our mission of improving animal health.
Key Responsibilities
- Employee Relations & Culture
- Champion an inclusive, respectful, and safety-first work environment
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR policies, performance management, and conflict resolution
- Lead employee engagement programs and surveys to boost morale and retention
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations (OSHA, FMLA, ADA, EEO)
- Partner with Environmental Health & Safety to reinforce proactive safety practices and assist with incident investigations
- Maintain thorough HR records and prepare for internal and external audits
- Strategic HR Partnership
- Collaborate closely with the Operations Director to align HR initiatives with business objectives
- Drive workforce planning, organizational design, and change management initiatives
- Lead succession planning and talent development programs to build a strong leadership pipeline
- Advise leadership on career paths, high-potential identification, and learning frameworks
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for manufacturing, technical, and professional roles
- Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract top talent in animal health contract manufacturing
- Oversee comprehensive onboarding programs that accelerate new-hire productivity and engagement
- HRIS & Data Management
- Administer and enhance HRIS systems (e.g., UKG, Paycom, Workday) to ensure data integrity and streamline processes
- Produce HR metrics, dashboards, and workforce analytics to inform leadership decisions
- Safeguard confidentiality and compliance of all employee records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s or HR certification (PHR/SPHR) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, with exposure to manufacturing or life sciences environments
- Deep knowledge of employment law, HRIS platforms, and safety regulations in regulated industries
- Proven track record in employee relations, succession planning, and talent development
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience in a union-free environment preferred
