Compensation: Expected Range $24.04 - $26.44/hour. Exact wage determined by experience and education related to the role and internal equity.

Work Location: St. Paul, MN | Hybrid, 3 days in the office

Key Responsibilities

  • Benefits Administration Support: Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, and claims; track benefits billing and ensure accurate processing and timely payments; assist in managing health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Compensation Analysis: Participate in salary surveys and benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable pay practices; assist in analyzing compensation data and recommending adjustments.
  • Payroll Processing Support: Support bi-weekly payroll processing; review timekeeping data and resolve discrepancies; ensure proper tax withholding and deductions and compliance with regulations.
  • HRIS Support: Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS; assist with system upgrades and process improvements.
  • Invoicing & Billing: Review and process department invoices; coordinate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure correct billing.
  • General HR Support: Prepare reports, maintain records, conduct audits, ensure policy compliance, assist with onboarding (I-9 documentation), maintain employment files, and process terminations.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-4 years of experience in HR, benefits, compensation, payroll, or related functions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis; experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, UKG, SuccessFactors).
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and compensation practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks; strong communication and confidentiality.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with payroll processes; knowledge of compensation surveys and benchmarking tools; certifications in compensation or payroll (e.g., CCP, CPP).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
