General Job Description

The Assistant to the Vice President for Student Success is under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Student Success. The Assistantprovides administrativesupport for the Vice President for Student Success; manages assigned Student Success programing; assists in the administration of assigned Student Success programing; assists in the fiscal management of Student Success; and, provides customer service for the office of the Vice President for Student Success. **LEVEL 9: MINIMUM SALARY BEGINS AT $41,753; ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION TO COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

Duties

Student Success Programing Management Implement/coordinate special projects as directed by the Vice President for Student Success. Prepare, analyze and distribute enrollment data for the Student Success leadership team. Assist in developing strong relationships with community organizations to support student needs. Review and distribute the SafeColleges student safety training each semester. Send out correspondence each semester to recognize those who are on the Academic Merit list. Coordinate the Academic Excellence and Dallas Herring student nominations process each year. Assist students with the complaints/grievances process. Maintain records for those receiving disciplinary action, requesting appeal hearings, and submitting complaints/grievances. Complete and submit college/university questionnaire and investigation paperwork for students transferring to other institutions or seeking national security positions. Draft and process correspondence as needed. Maintain minutes of assigned meetings. Coordinate curriculum graduation by serving as the co-chair of the graduation committee. Maintain inventory records for Student Success. Assist Student Success teams as assigned by the Vice President for Student Success. Ensure Personnel Handbook and Policy Manual, Catalog, and/or the College website changes are completed in a timely manner and updated accordingly. Ensure Good to Great reports are received by each Student Success team and submitted to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness according to the established deadlines. Fiscal Management Provide budget reports and maintain files of requisitions. Assist with processing travel documents. Complete requisitions and other financial paperwork in a timely manner. Submit budget recommendations. Customer Service Practice exemplary student customer service skills. Practice exemplary colleague customer service skills. Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

Associate degree from an accredited college or university. One year of general office experience. One year of customer service experience. One year of experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred: Bachelor's degreefrom an accredited college or university. One year of experience in community college student services. One year of experience in the North Carolina Community College System. One year of experience working with Ellucian Colleague. One year of experience performing a variety of functions, including word processing and document preparation, data entry, data retrieval, report preparation, and records maintenance. One year of experience in event planning, organizing and supervising social and/or cultural activities. College Requirements of all Employees
