POSITION TITLE:

REPORTS TO: Dining Service Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY : Supervises operation of kitchen/dining area. Is responsible for menu planning, meal preparation and clean up. Handles all USDA and Child Food and Nutrition Reports
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Direct supervision of kitchen and dining room areas. Menu planning with consultation of dietician. Meal preparation through supervision of client workers. Clean up following meals through supervision of client workers. USDA and CNP Reports. • Food ordering, storage and inventory
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum of a High School diploma • Knowledge of USDA commodity and child food nutrition regulations on food ordering, storage and use; Knowledge of USDA and CNP reporting requirements and Menu preparation to meet dietician and licensure standards. Experience operating commercial equipment including dishwasher, oven, steamer, mixer, hot food table, etc. Knowledge of Iowa Department of Health and local Department of Health standards for kitchen operation. Knowledge of Iowa Department of Health Division of Substance Abuse Awareness of substance abuse treatment methods and approaches. Experience with commercial cooking for preparation of meals for residential program. • Ability to work on a daily basis utilizing standard office equipment. • Ability to use computer system, software and to work well technology. • Ability to use independent judgment, analytical/decision-making skills, verbal and written communication skills, human relations skills, team working skills, and organizational skills. • This position consists of frequent sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time.
