Job Overview At B&B Blending, we are increasing the size of our Blending team to support incredible company growth. As our name implies, blending is one of our core competencies and in many ways is the engine that drives the company. Whether it be bulk chemicals that ship directly to our customers or subassemblies that we fill in our packaging area, the Blender I role is key to keeping product rolling out the door. We are looking for ambitious, hardworking individuals to join the team and support our capacity growth needs.
Responsibilities: Day-to-day blending of automotive detailing products in batches ranging from 5 to 1000 gallons Following production schedule as assigned by the Blending Supervisor and Production manager Maintaining excellent punctuality and attendance performance Following safety guidelines of blending, chemical handling, and forklift operation Ensuring good quality product by following written SOPs and directions from Blender II, Blender III, Blender IV and Production Manager while in training. Performing daily cleaning and preventative maintenance (PMs) on blending equipment Basic housekeeping duties to ensure a safe and efficient workspace Ensure that all blends are correct according to batch sheets. Recording all steps of the blending process, i.e., chemicals and quantities used. Setup and cleanup of all raw materials before and after mixing a blended batch. Collecting samples to provide to the Quality Control department. Filling chemicals into containers (pails, drums, or totes). Performing stock rotation of product. Keeping warehouse organized and clean. Providing support to other areas of production as needed. Operating a forklift in a safe and appropriate manner. Handling customers' products and raw materials safely and efficiently and communicating tactfully. Being disciplined, organized and flexible. Reporting all problems and errors to appropriate leadership. Maintains a safe working environment Refilling lab raw materials as requested. Properly labeling all containers that contain any chemical. Pushing through work orders by end of day. Other duties as assigned by your manager. Skills
High School diploma or GED required Ability to read, write, communicate in English, and understand chemical Safety Data Sheets. Ability to read blend sheets and perform basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Ability to lift 50-100 pounds and tilt 700 pounds with a drum dolly Good time management skills are required Use of fork-lifts is required (In-house training and certification is provided.) Basic chemistry knowledge preferred but not required (pH, acid/alkaline and neutralization, solubility, familiarity with industrial chemicals). This knowledge is acquired during training on the job. Once trained, employee must be able to follow blending instructions consistently to achieve good quality product while adhering to the daily production schedule Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required. Working well in a team, have a great attitude and work ethic. Physical Requirements: Standing, sitting and walking throughout the day; repeated twisting at the torso while lifting, pushing and pulling inventory.
