Responsibilities
Berkley Professional Liability is seeking a Business Analyst to join our team in Chicago, IL, on a hybrid work schedule.
This role acts as a partner between IT and business teams, providing support related to business analysis, data analysis, quality assurance testing, and help desk functions. The Business Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate user requests, coordinate and monitor these requests to ensure successful resolution. Key responsibilities include eliciting and documenting business requirements, creating test plans, performing quality assurance testing, and providing training for implemented solutions.
Collaborate with business users to understand their needs and identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to ongoing optimization efforts.
Create user stories and document business requirements, processes, and solutions.
Work closely with developers to ensure understanding and proper implementation of requirements and user stories.
Develop and execute test plans to verify functional delivery of applications.
Participate in testing and validation of system changes to ensure they meet business needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by end users.
Provide training and support to end users.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Five or more years of relevant IT experience.
Ability to gather and create detailed requirements.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server querying databases.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Self-motivated learner capable of working independently.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Ownership mindset with the ability to assess urgency and respond appropriately.
Strong organizational skills.
Willingness to travel occasionally to meet with end users.

Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $118,000
Eligible for annual discretionary bonus

Salary will be determined based on role scope, candidate skills and experience, and other employment conditions.
